Please note that Rockbridge Academy acts only as an agent for tour members in all functions pertaining to hotel reservations, sightseeing tours, and transportation of whatever nature. By your acceptance of the planned tour, Rockbridge Academy, its affiliates and agents cannot be held liable for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience caused by or resulting from occurrences, negligence or otherwise due to the malfunction of transportation equipment, strikes, wars, earthquakes, fire, delays, thefts, or any other unforeseeable acts of God. All efforts will be made by Rockbridge Academy for the successful and smooth running of the entire program.

Payments

  • The estimated cost of the trip is $4800.
  • Deposits from non-Rockbridge Academy students are $500 per person and are non-refundable.  Deposits are due on October 1, 2008, or upon registration if registration occurs after that date.
  • A first payment of $2000 is due February 2, 2009.
  • Final payments are due April 1, 2009.
  • No refund of total amount paid if participation in the Grand Tour is cancelled less than two (2) months (8 weeks) prior to departure.
  • Each check must indicate the name of the individual(s) traveling and “Rockbridge Academy Grand Tour.”
  • Payment schedules are binding.  All payments are due to Rockbridge Academy by due date as reflected in the payment schedule.

Returned checks/Late payments
There will be a $50 charge for all returned checks. There will be a charge of $75 per person for late payments.

Deviations
We may be able to offer deviations for return flights from Europe at a charge which is subject to routing and time of travel. For all deviations there is an administration charge of $100 per person as well as the difference in the change of fares charged by the airline.

Airline ticketing
In order to issue airline tickets, we need to have the name of each individual traveler exactly as it appears (or will appear) on the passport upon registration. Only tickets with passport names are honored by all airlines upon departure. Any changes made to issued airline tickets will be charged as per the requirements of the airline. NB: If a ticket has to be re-issued because of an incorrect passport name, there may be an additional charge imposed by the airline. These fees can range upwards of $200.

Add-ons
Any add-on (participant added after first payment date of 2-2-09) will need to be aware that Rockbridge Academy will incorporate a $100 administration charge.

Change of itinerary
Rockbridge Academy has the right to change the itinerary for reasons beyond our control. Cancellation of participants needs to be forwarded to us in writing to Rockbridge Academy either by regular mail, or, preferably to the following e-mail address: learning@rockbridge.org.

Included
Included in the cost of the trip: all ground and air transportation, entrance fees to sights included in the tour, all local tour guides, hotel accommodations, breakfast daily (certain dinners may also be included but will be noted specifically on the final itinerary).

Excluded
Excluded in the cost of the trip: personal spending money, entrance fees to museums not included in the tour, lunch, dinners not included in the tour, and personalized transportation.

It is advisable to take out passenger travel protection through Travelex or a company of your choice. Individuals are responsible for handling their own insurance issues.
