We continue to give God thanks in all circumstances. All the while, we are striving to provide the best Christ-centered education we can under the Covid restrictions. Our teachers quickly learned how to Zoom and use Google Classrooms to transition to an online platform within a matter of days which enabled every student to finish on track this year! All the parents and teachers learned to pivot and patiently persevere...and our children learned, not just subjects online, but how to trust Him along the way, in all circumstances.

Looking Forward to Reopening--A Roundtable Discussion

Watch our recent roundtable discussion moderated by current parent Myrna Daramy. Roy Griffith (headmaster) and teachers JD Head, Kim Williams, Gretchen Geverdt, Tammy Rhodes, and Tammy Keatts share about best practices gained from distance learning that have shaped our priorities for returning to the classrooms this fall. Watch the recording below:

Teddy Bear Tea Party

A virtual Teddy Bear Tea Party? Yes! The kindergartners dressed in their finest, brought along their favorite teddy bears, sipped tea, and  enjoyed sweet fellowship with one another and their teachers.

Virtual Spirit Week

During our virtual spirit week, students dressed up as various teachers and staff! Our teachers are looking younger by the day! The resemblance is quite remarkable in some cases!

Copycat Famous Works of Art

For some added stay-at-home fun, Rockbridge Academy held a competition of replicating famous works of art from home using any household items. The entries were creative, funny, and quite impressive! Families commented how they enjoyed putting these together. Thank you so much to everyone who participated! We hope these bring you a smile and brighten your day! Enjoy!

PARENT TESTIMONIALS

First, thank you for the Monday morning catechisms. They are a delight. I also wanted to let you know that we are getting along excellent with the format Mrs. Duvall, Mrs. Soltis and Mrs. Skwarek are leading with. I must say that I am very impressed with the manner in which Rockbridge has adapted to elearning. My daughter attended an “all-tech savvy” school and in comparison, Rockbridge is definitely on task...the impressive part is that you all did it in a very short period of time. God’s hand is definitely at work, and we don’t forget to thank Him every day for our blessings in our school. There have been so many teaching moments for us during this time. I am thankful that we switched to Rockbridge and had the opportunity to tutor with Dee McClintock over the summer and to express our gratitude to the Lord in a more profound way through scripture and learning. All of this has given us more confidence in where our family is during this crisis. I know you all have been giving us families words of encouragement, but we want you to know how amazing this journey has been with Rockbridge at our side. Thanks again and many blessings to you, Mr.Griffith and all of the teaching staff at Rockbridge. You all are in our family prayers every night.

With our gratitude,
Current Rockbridge Family

Has anyone else noticed that the other schools (both private and public) are just now jumping into this new online learning system, and we are already working our way through the third week? None of us are perfect, we are all adapting as an entire country through this surprise…but I am SO thankful that we ended up at Rockbridge during this tumultuous time. Instead of timidly or anxiously waiting to see what other schools would do, our leadership immediately began implementing a new educational plan. They sought out feedback from everyone involved and adapted as needed, with flexibility and grace. I feel like they are ahead of the curve, and I truly appreciate the hard work put into our children’s education. Thank you so much, Rockbridge!!
