The Reading Scope and Sequence Guide for K-6 is a companion to the Rockbridge Academy K-6 Curriculum Guide. It contains an overall design for effective introduction and teaching of reading elements such as phonics, structural analysis, parts of speech, punctuation and capitalization, vocabulary, literary types and tools, study skills, poetry, and writing. This scope and sequence summarizes what is to be taught and at what grade it should be introduced for reading and writing over the course of the grammar years.
