A Warm Welcome to Rockbridge Academy!

We are honored that you have chosen to enroll at Rockbridge Academy. I speak on behalf of our entire faculty and staff when I say that we are all looking forward to partnering with you in the education of your child[ren].
We have pulled together the ‘nuts and bolts’ items to have at the ready for the start of school. Between these items, Summer Academy, the Parent/Student Handbook, orientation events, and communications from the faculty and staff, your child’s new school routine will begin to feel more familiar.
We will add items throughout the spring and summer as we get ready for the new school year. Please bookmark this page and continue to check back.

Summer teacher training, Free for Rockbridge parents
“Why should I attend Summer Teacher Training? I'm not a teacher.” Great question! You will have the opportunity to:
Gain a deeper understanding of “What is classical education?”
Renew your vision for the formation of your children's hearts.
Pull back the curtain to understand more about what is going on in your children's classrooms and how they are being taught.
Experience for yourself sitting under the winsome teaching of your children's teachers.
Parents are welcome to participate in just a few talks or every session. You decide based on your own schedule and interests. However, we would still appreciate having your registration. Please reach out to Tina Thompson: 410-923-1171 EXT 1010 to register. Information on Summer Teacher Training
The Magician's Nephew
This summer, all Rockbridge Academy students and faculty will read C.S. Lewis' The Magician's Nephew. As a community, we hope this will foster conversations around the main themes of the book - friendship, the problem of evil, the nature of love, forgiveness, and obedience. We are looking forward to tall friends sharing sweet conversations with small friends and exciting conversations in class.
Grammar Summer Reading Challenge Packet
Students who meet the page number benchmark will receive a prize and their name on the library bulletin board in the fall. The top winners in each age category will receive an additional prize!

Recommended Reading List for Parents
Parents are encouraged to [re]read The Magician's Nephew this summer too. Additionally, classical Christian education is a journey for which parents need provision and fortification. We have assembled a list of books for families to equip themselves along the way.
Come visit the library this summer on Wednesdays, 10AM - 1PM! Many of the recommended reading titles are part of the Rockbridge library collection. You may peruse the collection HERE.
Shop Our Spirit Gear
Students may wear spirit wear on designated Spirit Days. Use code GEAR for 20% OFF purchases of $60 or more. The Rockbridge Academy School Store offers all sorts of Rockbridge Academy gear.
Discover Summer
Receive an automatic sibling discount when you sign up two or more students at the same time. Come Discover Summer with us and invite your friends.
We are pleased to present an exciting schedule of offerings to enrich your child's summer. There are morning camps, afternoon camps, and extended day available for before (7:30-9:00 AM) and after (3:30-5:00 PM) camps. As with our academic programs, Discover Summer activities will be presented from a biblical worldview in line with our Statement of Faith, and campers will be encouraged to grow in Christian character and spiritual understanding.
